Michael Pitts joined the Partnership in 1961. His rating experience has spanned over five re-valuations in England and Wales and has extended also into Scotland and Northern Ireland. Michael has maintained the Partnership's expertise in rights of light matters and over the last 30 years has become a leading consultant in this field.

Specific Experience

Michael has given advice in the field of planning for sunlight and daylight and has appeared as an Expert Witness in planning appeals, in litigation over light and in compensation claims/compulsory purchase inquiries.

For many years he was technical advisor to the Merseyside and North Wales Brewers Association and undertook company asset valuations at regular intervals.

Michael has lectured on ratings subjects, rights of light and planning for sunlight and daylight, and served on the committee of the Rating Surveyors Association for fourteen years, for several of which he was the Honorary Treasurer.
